WHAT ARE THE MINI-MOVIES?

What are the mini-movies? The mini-movies are marked with a icon. They are are flash video files that contain a teaching presentation with an audio track. These were recorded in my office (not lecture) so they are short, but very dense. Movie controls are available so you can replay, pause, and skip sections. Because the mini-movies are Flash video files, it is important to have the latest version of Flash installed on your computer. Go to the following link to see if your Flash is working: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

When you hover over "Create," "See." and "About" in the Flash area, they should open up with a whoosh! If you can't hear the whoosh, you won't be able to hear my mini-movies. If you can't see the "Create," "See," and "About," you won't be able to see my mini-movies.

Here's another fun test of Flash -- can you get the ladybug to follow your mouse?

FOR ADDITIONAL HELP AND VIDEOS:

Pre-algebra and algebra mini-movies are available at other Web sites. Try one (or all) of these:

www.nutshellmath.com

www.mathtv.com

Be sure to check out the www.nutshellmath.com algebra movies, especially if you are in Math 208/209 at University of Phoenix. The entire Dugopolski textbook is taught with excellent mini-movies. Select the chapter, section, and problem number with which you need help and you'll find a mini-movie explaining how to do that problem. Other textbooks are addressed in the same way. Chances are good that you'll find your textbook online at www.nutshellmath.com
