This tutorial package was created for a half-day, staff-development class. Because we will be working in a computer lab, participants may choose to work through this tutorial at their own pace rather than staying with the structured class presentation. In addition, the formal class may provide insufficient time to develop the topic of An Introduction to Microsoft® Access™. As such, this tutorial package may be referenced after the class when participants return home.

An Introduction to Microsoft® Access™ is the first in a series of four tutorial sets about Microsoft® Access™. The tutorial packages in this series are:

  • Introduction to Access -- Learn database concepts, learn to use a pre-made database, and build your own database using a Wizard

  • Beginning Access -- Build your own database (flat file) using tables, forms, queries, and reports

  • Intermediate Access -- Build your own database (relational) using tables, forms, queries, and reports

  • Advanced Access -- Advanced database concepts and objects (including macros and VBA modules)

This tutorial package depends upon Viewlets™ which are small movies demonstrating a feature or technique of computer software. To see more Viewlets™ about Microsoft® Office products, visit http://www.jolenemorris.com/office. Or for more information about Viewlets™, visit http://www.qarbon.com. The Viewlet symbol  ()  throughout this tutorial site indicates a Viewlet movie to explain how to do the indicated task.
