This tutorial doesn't require any previous experience with a database. However, it would be helpful to have some experience with Microsoft® Excel™.

Necessary Pre-requisite Skills

  • Keyboarding Proficiency

  • Basic Computer Literacy

  • Managing files: open, new, save, rename, delete (Refer to the operating system section of my Web site.)

  • Managing folders: open, new, rename, delete (Refer to the operating system section of my Web site.

  • Working with Text: add, select, delete, copy, move, find & replace, undo, redo, repeat (Refer to the operating system section of my Web site.

  • Understand how to navigate through Viewlets

Without the pre-requisite skills, you will find databases and Microsoft Access difficult to understand. I strongly recommend you obtain the pre-requisite skills before proceeding in this tutorial series.
